Our Plastic Trash Ends up in The PacificThe water you choose for yourself may be more closely tied to your overall health and well-being than you have considered. Constituting approximately 70% of your body, water is a solvent and it carries with it properties of the environment it originated in and passed through on the way to becoming part of you.

Consider the simple case of water that is transported in a plastic bottle. Harvard Medical School studied the health impact of drinking bottled water. BPA has been linked to cardiovascular disease and diabetes in humans and disrupted reproductive development in animals.

There may still be exceptions when bottled water makes sense such as when the choice is dehydration or a plastic bottle. In the instances where you are caught without your trusty reusable water bottle, we recommend picking a bottled water with an alkaline pH. Given the impact on the earth, we hope you are able to restrict bottled water consumption to a few times a year at most.
